The time of year is upon us once again, Christmas morning for the management and culinary students of ProStart. It’s the National ProStart Invitational this weekend and I am off to Baltimore on Friday to cover the event, live through social media. 43 culinary teams and 39 management teams from all over the country are competing. It is a very exciting weekend.
This year, Celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan has booked a stop at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s ProStart Invitational while touring the country to promote her brand-new culinary book. Chauhan, the James Beard award-winning chef and judge of the Food Network’s hit TV show “Chopped”, will appear at the NRAEF’s 12th annual National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, April 19-21, as part of her “Cutting Edge” tour to promote “Flavors of My World: A Culinary Tour Through 25 Countries,” the book she co-authored with Doug Singer. During her ProStart visit, she will interact with the 350 students from 43 states who are competing for $1.4 million in scholarship prizes. The contestants will demonstrate their leadership skills in restaurant management and the culinary arts.
If you want to join the party this year, follow @ProStart on Twitter, Like the page on Facebook and follow us on Pinterest. Our hashtag for the show is #itselectric13.
