When a friend of mine wanted to create her own jewelry board, I jumped at the idea. Last night, we went to The Home Depot to get the supplies for our DIY project and we received some of the best customer service I’ve ever had in my life.
Thankfully, the first person we asked for help was named Amadeus and he was the most resourceful guy around the Depot. He helped us find the pegboard, and after we told him what we were doing, he helped us find everything else we needed for our jewelry boards. He even assembled everything for us. I didn’t even know Home Depot did this!
What you’ll need to make your own jewelry board:
1 – 2′ x 2′ Pegboard (Home Depot only sells 2′ x 4′ pegboards so we had Amadeus cut in half)
1 – Package of assorted pegboard hooks (This is what I purchased)
1 – 2′ x 4′ (For mounting)
2 – Wall fasteners
2 – Drywall screws with anchors
6 – Screws
1 – Screwdriver or drill
1 – Quart of eggshell paint
1 – mini roller
Directions
Step 1: Go to Home Depot
Step 2: Pick up supplies, and if you’re lucky, have an employee assemble it for you. This is Amadeus.
Step 3: Attach the 2′ x 4’s to the opposite sides of the pegboard using three screws per side.
Step 4: Screw in the wall fasteners to the back of each 2′ x 4′, I chose to go down 3 inches per side.
Step 5: Paint the pegboard and attached 2′ x 4’s. I chose Behr’s Olé Pink.
Step 6: Place two drywall anchors and screws in your wall where you want the jewelry board to hang.
Step 7: Place pegboard hooks where you want them and start hanging your jewelry!
