Instagram is infamous for taking updates from other platforms and adopting them as their own, and tbh we kind of love it! Yesterday, the company rolled out its newest feature, “Nametags“, which offers users an easy way to follow friends on social.
Picture it: you’re out with a group and everyone starts exchanging IG handles. Instead of yelling across the table, now they can simply pull up their “Nametag” and you’re free to scan and follow! Here’s how:
Head to your profile and hit the menu (top right-hand corner). Select “Nametag”. It should bring you to a customizable screen where you can create your unique tag for others to scan. Now friends can scan your tag and they will instantly be following you!
To add others, simply swipe right to the camera, hold down on the screen to focus your lens, and you’ll be done! It will be interesting to see if businesses someday harness this as a way to encourage customers to easily follow them.
