Have fun with it. Let your brand’s personality shine through with the content you create. More users will engage and trust your brand if they feel like they are interacting with an actual person. Example: Tribe Hummus

Keep your feed cohesive. It really helps with visual consistency, makes your brand stand out, and will definitely make your followers come back for more. It also makes a company feel “more legit” if they have a consistent feed or posting schedule. Example: Steve Madden

Interact with your followers. Don’t ever leave them hanging or make them feel like you are ignoring them. Nothing will make them click “unfollow” quicker than feeling like they are being neglected. Example: Vienna Beef

Keep things timely! That doesn’t mean you have to jump on every #nationaldayholiday in the book, but nothing performs better than a relevant post that resonates with a current trend or event. Example: Vision Expo

The further in advance that you can schedule your content, the better your content will be. It allows you to think about the month’s themes and ensure you’re covering all topics you’d like to discuss. It also gives you peace of mind that you don’t have to scramble every day looking for something to post. If you or your client can’t plan far in advance because of timely changes or events, then I advise at least scheduling a few days worth of content and then leaving blanks for timely posts. Always tailor your content and copy to the audience you’re trying to reach. No one likes to be sold to. However, if you can create conversational copy and imagery that appeals to your target audience, your social media campaign will not only raise awareness but also generate leads. Example: Wendy’s

Always keep a close eye on your competitors on social media so that you can capitalize on their weaknesses and learn from their strengths. Example: Gossip Genie
