Over 10,000 golf professionals from around the world attended the PGA Show’s first virtual expo that featured the global product drops, extensive educational content, sessions from pros like Phil Mickelson and Colin Morikawa, premiere networking, and hundreds of virtual showrooms.
Gossip Genie tee’d up to cover our first PGA Show January 26-29th.
It was incredible to work with such an innovative show team to boost their unparalleled virtual experience that is keeping the golf industry propelling forward. The passion and perseverance of golf professionals after an unprecedented year was inspiring to see and be a part of.
Our social coverage was MAJOR, we’re excited to share that our efforts yielded 1.7m+ impressions and 17k + engagements across the board. With product drops and the latest innovations from brands like Titleist, Callaway, FootJoy, and Cobra Puma Golf, there was a lot of hype on social media. The cutting-edge premium videos coming from these global brands reinforce the need for dynamic and high-quality content as we navigate this increasingly virtual world. It was up to the GG team to leverage these premium experiences for the golf industry through our social media content. Check out @pgashow social channels to see our work! Click the buttons below.
Here are 3 learnings on social coverage for virtual events:
- Focus social media on teasers of content including key partner companies, well-known speakers, and top content themes. Keep audiences wanting to explore more instead of including too many of the details.
- Use screen grabs and video promos as much as possible! One of our highest performing content types were our countdown videos from the PGA Show team. It shows that having personality and depth behind social media pages is more important than ever.
- Monitor, monitor, monitor! Use the user-generated coverage and testimonials to boost your Twitter feed and IG Story. Use language and posts that encourage people to engage. Also, make sure you’re checking variations of your created hashtag to expand your view of what attendees are saying.
