Fast Company’s Co. Design published an interesting article today focusing on a redesigned version of the American Airlines brand, who filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in 2011. Victor & Spoils, the agency behind this idea, explains that the way they approach companies with ideas is as if they are already working together. It is definitely a new way to look at finding potential clients! CEO John Windsor wrote “we’ve put this brief to our crowd of 6,000+ creatives–offering $10,000 of our own toward the ideas we think can best help American Airlines become a more nimble airline.” The most favorited design came from Anna Kövecses, who was offered $1,000 for her efforts (pretty cheap in my opinion!). She created a retro look of the company while using muted greys, blues, and wood colors to maintain a ‘safe’ feel for their customers. Think of all the brands out there that are in need of a redesign! Check out the full article and design here!
