The Client

Janss Marketplace is a California-based shopping center, conveniently located on the corner of Moorpark Road and Hillcrest Drive in the city of Thousand Oaks. Janss Marketplace is a one-stop experience for shopping, dining, and more. With a variety of specialty shops and services, there’s no need to go anywhere else! Tenants include a variety of retailers, from DSW to a local animal rescue. Although Janss Marketplace had an existing Instagram page, it had become inactive as there was no consistent posting schedule. With little engagement and a modest fan base, we grew their Instagram tremendously in just three short months, all through organic outreach efforts. Thus increasing their overall visibility.

The Goals

After assessing their current online presence and fan base, our team was able to curate a comprehensive social media strategy for the Janss Marketplace team based on the following goals:

  • Find and target new and existing Janss Marketplace fans with our Instagram posts
  • Position Janss Marketplace as the one-stop shopping center for Thousand Oaks residents
  • Create cohesive messaging both visually and written on the Instagram feed
  • Stay top-of-mind for the primary household shopper

The Results

Through careful targeting and organic outreach, we were able to grow the Janss Marketplace fan base by over 800 followers in just three short months. This brought the total following to 1,091 fans. This was done all through organic outreach as we identified Janss Marketplace’s target audience and interacted with them on Instagram.

Engagement also saw a significant increase. In just 12 short weeks, we saw an 146,700% increase in engagement, largely due to the visual and cohesive feed we built. Despite not being local to the shopping center, we were still able to curate a feed that showcased all of its tenants and the spirit of the shopping center. Since the page was previously inactive, implementing a consistent posting schedule was crucial in upping engagement.
