If you’re anything like me, your inbox is probably flooded with a hundred million different emails – and that’s on a slow day. From coupon codes to exclusive sales and more, it seems like every brand is trying to take over our inboxes. Because of this, it should come to no surprise that email marketing has received a bad rap in recent years.

But did you know that email marketing is one of the most profitable forms of advertising, second only to SEO? Not only is it low-cost but it’s easily measurable, and lasts. After all, when’s the last time you cleared out your inbox? No judgment.

One of the best ways to grow your brand’s email list is through social media marketing. Check out some of our tips and tricks below.

2. Free Content

This first tip is going to require a bit of effort from you and/or your business’ marketing team, but trust me – it is worth it. People aren’t just going to hand over their email without getting anything in return. You have to create something that is going to entice them to trade information with you. Remember what your mom always told you – sharing is caring.

What the content is exactly is going to depend on your brand. If you’re a wedding photographer trying to attract young brides to join your email list, you might create a free engagement session guide book that includes photo locations, outfit ideas and more. If you’re a food brand, you might be offering an eBook with a few recipes. The possibilities are endless. The more creative and unique your content is, the better results it will yield.

Once you have this content live and ready to go, you can begin targeting them via Facebook ads. For just dollars, you can identify and reach people similar to your existing audience with these ads. And, now that you have this incentive of the free content, you will be sure to garner more results.

2. Giveaways

Similar to the free content, you need to do something that will incentivize people to give you their email. Hosting a giveaway on Facebook is a surefire way to build your email list quickly. The contest can be as large or small as you’d like – what’s important is that you require participants to enter their email to win. Since Facebook’s contest rules are constantly changing and evolving, so I recommend hosting your contest on a landing page via Shortstack or another third-party software.

3. Facebook Ads

This one probably seems like a no-brainer, but ads still remain one of the most effective ways to grow your email list. Not only can you target your audience to ensure you are getting the best results possible, but a Facebook ad costs only a few dollars to run.

Here are some pointers to get you started.
