Hello [midday slump], my old friend 🎶

Let’s talk about the unwanted, unloved, & unhelpful midday lull: It comes & hits like a semi-truck. Avoiding it seems impossible. After all, how do you prevent it from happening without drowning yourself in 5 cups of caffeine? Well, being no stranger to this, I’ve come up with different tactics that have helped perk me up & power me through the rest of the day. Give them a try & see if they work for you, too! 👇

  • MOVE AROUND
Hit the gym, walk up + down your office stairs, go for a walk outside, etc. Don’t have time for those activities? At the very least, try to stand up and walk for 1 minute every hour. This will help get some endorphins going & spike your energy levels. It will also help you mentally to get a change of scenery + give you some clarity by stepping away from your desk.
  • PUMP UP THE JAMS
Before tackling your next task, put on a few of your favorite songs and just jam out.  Throw in a little air guitar if the feeling hits. This can help re-energize your mind. 🎸
  • HELLO H2O
Drip💧 drip💧drip💧 – That’s the sign of you hydrating yourself for the day. Did you know that mild dehydration can cause you to feel sleepy? I’ve found that drinking from a bottle that has a straw encourages me to drink more water throughout the day. Give it a shot & see if your mood improves.
  • PUPPY PICS
I mean… this one is pretty obvious, am I right? If this isn’t an instant mood booster, IDK what is 🐶
  • DOWNWARD DOG
Okay, so maybe not this exact yoga post (I’m just obsessed with dogs – sorry, not sorry), but take a break to allow yourself to stretch. Sitting at a desk all day can make you feel stiff and lethargic.
